The DEVELON DL420-7M is a new generation heavy duty wheel loader engineered to deliver outstanding breakout force, excellent load and carry performance and long term durability across New Zealand’s construction, quarrying, roading and material handling sectors. Power & Performance.

Powered by the high performance Scania DC13 engine delivering 257 kW at 1,800 rpm with strong torque and fuel efficient combustion, the DL420-7M provides fast acceleration, responsive power and efficient operation under heavy load. The load sensing hydraulic system supplies flow only when needed and enables smooth, precise control for digging, lifting and stockpiling. Operators can tailor performance through multiple adaptive power modes for fuel savings and optimal productivity.

A redesigned counterweight and enhanced Z bar linkage contribute to excellent breakout force, faster cycle times and improved material penetration. The machine’s long wheelbase and balanced weight distribution increase stability when travelling with full buckets, while the Load Isolation System (LIS) reduces pitching to provide a smoother ride and more consistent loading performance.

Operator Comfort.

The operator environment is built for comfort and safety. A spacious cab with all around visibility, ergonomic pedal design, adjustable controls, climate management and an optional air suspension seat supports reliable all day operation. An 8 inch central monitor panel provides easy access to machine data, rear view camera display, power mode selection and system settings. Optional LED lighting and additional monitoring systems further enhance visibility in low light or high traffic conditions.

Durability.

Durability is engineered into every major component. Reinforced bucket structures, sintered brake discs, a steel structured radiator grill, strengthened transmission dampers and a robust propeller shaft contribute to long service life and reduced wear in harsh environments. A single layer cooling module with automatic reversing fan improves airflow and supports performance in dusty or high debris conditions typical of quarry and aggregate operations.

Maintenance.

Maintenance is simplified with centralised grease points, ground level service access, easy filter replacement and clear sight gauges. Optional DEVELON Fleet Management provides real time monitoring of machine utilisation, fuel use, maintenance intervals and diagnostic alerts to maximise uptime and support proactive fleet planning.
